Ficlets

You said you wanted honesty.

I stood up, more confident than ever.
He looked over at me, and quickly looked away, without meeting my gaze.
I had to force back the smirk dangling from the edge of my lips. I stood up in one fluent motion, my following stride strong. He was turned around, drinking his coffee. I lightly tapped him on the shoulder.
he looked shocked to see me standing there.
“Charlotte…” He said, in awe.
I nodded.
He tried to say something, but I shushed him.
“I have something to say.”
He nodded.
“I wanted to tell you..”
“yes.” He prodded.
“that you’re a jerk, and I’m completely over you. All the feelings I ever had for you are so unbelievably gone, I’m not even sure if they were there to begin with.”
His eyes widened, and he choked on his words, trying to think of something to say.
I started to walk away until I realized I’de forgoten something.
“Oh, and Sam?”
He looked up.
“You were a terrible kisser.” I said satisfied.
No one cheates on me and gets away with it.
I laughed to myself.
