A Date in the City
I smoothed a petal in my palm, the bright red dye rubed off on my fingertips. Ben’s eyes met mine.
“So,how about this.Instead of breaking into my house and scaring the livingdaylight out of me, you pick me up from work each day. You have a car, right?” I dropped the peatl, it twirled down to the ground.
“Alrght then. Fine, just call me and I’ll show.” He winked and gave one of his kiler smiles. I let a laugh esape my troat. I leant in and kissed his soft lips.
He put his arm around me as we walked into the house.
“So, shall we watch another “scary” movie?” He smirked. I whacked him on the shoulder with a playful grin.
“My mother should be home. . .” I trailed off, then frowned seeing yet another note on the counter.
hey honey,
Be home by nine, I PROMISE !
I picked it up and waved it at Ben. He saw the hurt in my eyes and put a strong arm around my shoulders.
“Come on Kirsten, let’s go out tonight. This time to the city.” I met his lavender gaze and couldn’t help but smile. We headed out the door.
