Staring
She shifted uncomfortably under the teacher’s gaze. He had been staring at her for a good 15 seconds, which is a long time if you think about it. Finally, she looked at him and said in a voice that was apathetic but bordering sarcasm, “Can I help you?”
“Oh, sorry, I was doing math in my head, guess I was staring huh?” The teacher said, laughing as if it was the funniest thing he’d seen all day.
“Yeah, you were.” She said in a way that was rude to the extremes.
She shook her head to make her hair fall over her face so that he wouldn’t see her rolling her eyes. What was with teachers? They were so freakin’ weird.
The bell rang and she was out the door before anyone else was out of their seats. School sucked-it matched the rest of her life perfectly.
