Awesome and careful depiction of the scene and the mindset. I love when horror genre stuff gets this kind of realistic treatment. And to be honest, I don’t think I’ve seen it put this way before, the idea of actively hunting the undead instead of cowering or running. And I watch a lot of zombie movies.
I love the seeming uncertainty in this character. I can almost see him closing his eyes as he pulls the trigger and then nothing happens. I can feel the sweat on his brow – the whole bit. The way you described this left some to the reader’s imagination, all the while allowing us to get complete absorbed into the scene.
Great Job keeping with the style & feel of the Prequel too.
I just wanted to mention how cool it is that you made a parallel between two extremely different characters; one being against the other and all. Amazing :)
