It's Got to be Destiny.
It was ten years ago that I last saw him. Ten years, and he still makes my heart race! I’m here in Alaska in the bookstore. Some random impulse had come over me to look at books. Then, there he was…in ALASKA , signing books. Funny, I’d thought back in junior high when I started liking him that he’d one day be an author.
Now I’m thinking WHAT THE HECK AM I GOING TO DO ?! I could go talk to him, I guess. What if he doesn’t recognize me? Or scarier still, what if he does? I can’t just hide here. I can’t just walk away! The missed opportunity would taunt me until I died!
So…here goes. Gulp
Hey! I’m actually walking toward him! My feet are moving! Not too far to the table now! There’s no line! This has to be a sign! This has to be destiny.
Suddenly, I stop short. I’m standing ten inches from the table. He looks up at me. Those beautiful brown eyes are the same as they were ten years ago. Was that a smile across his face?
“Hey, Kaeli.” He said. My heart soared.
“Hi,” I managed to say.
