I Am Broken
I sighed, sticking my hand into the back pocket of my jeans. This stupid pair of jeans ruined my life!
[1] I yelled at Jason.
[2] I still love Collin.
[3] And I have to deal with them both.
Ugh! What am I supposed to do now?! I just need some kind of sign. Now I’m going crazy for real.
I need a sign to tell me that everything is going to be okay, that everything will work out. I headed up the stairs of my front porch and found a note.
Cathy,
I’m sorry that I hurt you but this is the right way. This way, I can’t keep hurting you; I seem to do that a lot. My mom’s moving me to Colorado, far away from here.
You’ll never have to deal with me again.
And I meant to write Allie.
-Collin
I sunk to the steps, pressing my head against the cold stones. This wasn’t fair; this wasn’t the type of sign I meant. This was tragedy. I wanted him and he’s not mine. Never will be again. Collin’s gone and I’m broken. Again.
I ran into the house, slamming the door behind me. Inside, I started searching for my journal.
