Hadron's Uncertainty
“This way,” a tall, whatever they were, spoke over the hum of the 100-plus survivors.
“Where are you taking us?” cried a woman out of the throng.
The creature looked upon the crowd with open dismay, “I told you where I am to take you; This way!” his long finger jabbed into another chamber beyond this carved-hole in the cave wall. “Stupid for shortlings,” the creature mumbled beneath his breath.
Though human-like in appearance, these people looked alien. Their skin was too pale, and eyes too far apart to be normal, and large and grey. They all pushed a height of 7 feet tall.
Conrad Reyes raised his arms and shouted over the human cacophony, “Alright, alright, people, please,” the gathered began to hush.
“We have questions, I understand that,” he scratched at his itching skin, “And we will get answers, I promise you, but first, let these people help us”
“What’s happening to us, Doctor?” the voice was familiar. Conrad found the face; a lab tech.
“Susan?” her face brought instant joy. “I’m not sure,” he admitted.
