Just Have Fun! (Homecoming Challenge)

I decided no matter what I would try to have fun at this homecoming date or not. The guy I wanted so badly out with some girl. I wouldn’t let it get to me, not that night.

I walked in with my head held high and my heals clacking. My dress swished as I walked my hair swayed in its curls. I took my shoes and put them in my locker and walked to the dance floor. It only took a couple of minutes to notice me and there he came. He was dateless.

“Taby!” he calls my name.
“Hi,” I say in an even tone.
“Dance?” he asks
“Sure,” I struggle out. Why did he just ask me to dance?

He takes my hand and we dance. It was a little awkward at first but then I just focused on having fun. He came around to face me.

“I am sorry,” He said loudly with the music blasting.
“For what?” I yell back.
“For not coming with you. I didn’t want to push the friend thing.”
“Just dance. The important thing is for us to have fun. “

With that I broke out into a dance move that made him smile.
