Residing Dreams (Chapter 70)

On one tired, chilly morning, my homeroom teacher said she needed to talk to me. At first I was really nervous, and I wondered if I had done something wrong. But then I remembered that I never got in trouble, so it had to be for some other reason. Was something wrong? Did anything happen to my dad….? However, I was realived when I noticed that my teacher’s expression was not angry nor vexed, but rather excited and pleased. “Essie,” she said, with a smile on her face, “Congratulations. You’ve won the Christian values poster contest!” I couldn’t help but let out a squeal of delight. “So is it alright if I announce it to the class today?” she asked. “Yes. Totally. Thank you,” I replied, estatic.I couldn’t wait for everyone to find out! This was one of the best things that happened to me in the past few years! If that wasn’t enough, the teacher also announced that January had recieved an honorable mention. The class cheered for both of us,and strangely, it felt great having someone to share the spotlight with.
