Pay For Your Mistakes
My old boyfriend, Robert, approached me. He pulled my hand away from Spencer’s to embrace me in a painful hug. And it hurt too. He was squeezing me so hard it felt like he could stop my breath. Though my heart had already skipped a couple beats when I first laid eyes on him.
“Grace! I haven’t seen you in forever.â? Robert gushed. Yes, a couple years now, Robert. The time you were supposed to be spending in jail. So why are you here? Now? I wanted to scream at him but I stayed silent. “Who’s this?â? He asked.
Spencer answered. “Spencer, hey. And you?â?
“Robert. Grace’s old boyfriend.â? Spencer stifled his gasp as Robert said this. He was probably thinking the same thing I was: no way in hell.
“We’re kind of busy now. Why don’t you two catch up later?â? Spencer said harshly, trying hard to keep his voice under control.
“Sure. Just let me talk to Grace alone for a minute.â? Spencer walked away reluctantly. “Couldn’t bail me out, huh? Well, your turn to pay for your mistakes.â? Robert hissed at me.
No, not now.
