The color of our skin
You say it’s a sin,
I say it’s just the color of our skin
You say it won’t work,
and you repeat it like clockwork
You say it isn’t right
You point out that he’s half black, I point out that he’s half white
And here comes another fight
You say he wasn’t raised the same and I ask how you even know a thing, because untill a few days ago, you hardly even knew his name
You ask why I even try, because you know that I can’t change your mind,
And so I ask you,”Why do you think that you can change mine?”
