Enough Time

“MAY! MAY !” I peel open my eyes, thin streaks of bright colors spill over the Lake’s water, I shiver feeling a bitter morning breeze seep through my creamy blond hair.
“May!” I hear my name for the third time and snap my head up. My mother stands with her arms crossed over her chest. I see a spark of annoyance on her face.
“Good morning,” I croak. She frowns.
“You never came home!” She replies and scuffs up the blue blanet draped over my body. I look around for Sam, suddenly I feel his warm hands secure on my shoulders.
“Forgive me Mrs. Wessly, we must have dosed off. I meant to be home by ten honest,” I hear his voice and try all I can not to smile. Instead I stand up and turn to Sam.
“I’ll see you later Sam,” I wanted desperately to kiss him, but my mother was staring a hole through the back of my head. He smiles at me and picked up his picnic basket. I turn and start walking behind my mother.
Two more days that’s all I had till College. I hoped desperately that it would be enough time.
