Imagination Attack (Part 3)
As the author gaped at the monster he had created, he heard a creak. It was the door to the kitchen opening. His wife, looking drowsy and with a glass of water in hand, walked through.
“Why are you up so late?” she asked, “What’s with that expression on your face? I’m not that ugly!”
“Can’t you see him?!” the author yelled, gesturing furiously at the looming, pale man.
His wife looked at him with an odd expression on her face. “Honey I really think that you should be getting to sleep.”
She walked back into the bedroom.
“Who am I?” the villain asked.
“What?”
“You have created me. Who am I?”
Unsure of how to go about answering this the author recited a paragraph from his book. “You are an evil being but there is one thing you crave. How can you not know this?!”
“You have only created me in words, but now I have life. Now I can learn.”
“But you can never live without a soul!”
He smiled. “Then you’ll have to give me one.”
