Ficlets

FICBLOG: From the Elders (sort of) to the New Peeps, Part 4

(I thought of a different word for new peoples!)
I figured if others are getting in on the whole Ficlets 101, why can’t I? Here’s what I do to stay afloat:
1) Be curious. Find a couple authors you like, then dig back into their archive. Don’t be afraid to sequel; that first ficlet is often neglected. It’d make someone’s day to sequel it. And, if you have any questions, I’m sure anybody’d be glad to help. They were when I asked.
2) Be friendly. Get to know some people: note them, leave comments, IM them. We’re all in this together, we shouldn’t be antisocial.
3) Be constructive. As mentioned before, it was warned not to just say “I hated this,” or “this stunk.” I am a firm believer in constructive criticism. It’s fine if someone tells me something was iffy (or if it stunk), I just want to know what could be changed to make it better in the future.
4) Be bold. If something strikes you in such a way that you want to sequel, go for it! If anything it help the original author.
Well, that’s all I got.
