Her Eyes
“Katie. Honestly, it’s not that hard. Just find the plug in your answer for the coefficient there and solve as usual.”
Heather McNamara was at the end of her patience with her normally mathmatically competent friend. “You’re so distracted. What’s going on?”
Katie Snow dropped her head onto the pile of papers and math texts in front of her and groaned. “This guy…”
Heather rolled her eyes while taking a sip from her bottle of water and gave a little groan of exasperation. “Not again.”
“But he was so sweet. And we clicked so well and he-”
”’-knew exactly what to say to make me feel comfortable’.” Heather finished, knowing her friend’s criteria for boy-finding by heart. “These never end well, Sno-Sno…” She argued, as she usually did when this topic came up. It got to be that the argument was more out of habit than trying to find a real solution.
“But what if he’s the one!” Katie squealed, earning her a loud ‘shhhhhh’ from the librarian and a stern look.
Heather sighed. “But, Katie. What if he isn’t..?”
