What’s the difference between a Blight and a Psycho?

The worst thing a Blight can do is kill you.

At EMT school they taught us never to use a tourniquet unless you’re willing to lose the limb. I pulled off my belt and tied it around my upper thigh as tight as possible without a moment’s hesitation. The blood loss slowed to a trickle, and my leg started to go numb from the tourniquet down (which was still better than agonizing pain).

I grabbed Hoshi’s rifle from her unconscious body and flipped off the safety. The rifle was a Steyr Scout: a lightweight bolt action rifle with a forward mounted low-power scope. Hoshi liked it because it was a longarm with a short barrel that you could bring around quickly and easily. I would have preferred something with a 10x scope, but beggars can’t be choosers.

From what I could remember when I got shot, it looked like it was coming from across the street. Probably a balcony. I raised the gun to my shoulder and started searching for the shooter.
