What does it take for something or someone to be ugly? Is there a specific description for ugly that everyone follows by?

I’m guessing the answer is no. After all, some may think that being super skinny is the term behind beautiful, but others find that repulsive, seeing all the bones in girl’s bodies.

Then there are the people that look beautiful when they put on multiple layers of make-up, later on getting multiple compliments from everyone. But it’s better I believe when someone still looks amazing at their worse.

Then there’s also the gnarled trees that people pay lots of money to get ripped out of the ground, because of how repulsive they appear. But gnarled trees are the best trees to climb, which I think makes them beautiful. As with animals that people ususally turn their noses away from in disgust others gush over for their misfitness.

So there’s no real definition behind the word ugly is there? Quite frankly, should it even be a word with all the pain it causes?
