Autumn and Justin: Making Plans

I had trouble focusing on the research, as my mind took in the implications of being asked out. Visions of darkened movie theaters and popcorn danced through my head, making the words on the page dance too.

Suddenly, Justin got up from the table. This cleared my head, and before I could ask what he was doing, he was gone. I looked after him, confused. He returned with the paper.

He found the movie listings and I grinned. “What do you want to see?” he asked.

“I don’t even know what’s showing! I haven’t been to a theater since I was ten!”

He stared at me in shock, “You serious?”

“Yeah.” I giggled. I seemed to be doing that a lot.

We settled on a nice comedy. I’d rather laugh through a movie date, than be awkwardly sitting through a love story.

My stomach growled. Normally I would be home for a snack by now.

“Hey I don’t have much time left! I have to be home by dinner and I live 22 miles away.” I informed him.

“I don’t mind driving. Honest.” He comforted. I smiled and began copying notes frantically.
