Morality Religion Poem

Morality
What is Morality?
Is it to be righteous.
To be wholesome.
To be virtuous.
Or is it to follow our own code?
Does it eat at us-
Like a pesky mosquito
Or flow over and out of us
Like a giant wave?
Is it something earned-
Or maybe something we learn?
Do we receive morality
when we start to think for ourselves?
When we have our own personality?
Maybe morality
Is something we shape every second,
Every minute,
Every hour.
Something we aren’t taught,
Something we aren’t given.
Maybe it is like a block
Of marble.
And as we live our lives,
Chisels away.
Until, one day-
Our true selves’ are revealed-
Like a work of art-
For all the world to look upon.
Some might frown with tart,
While others draw on
A simple
Smile.
