More Than Words
Jameson and Prandi sat down on a bench, his shirt stained with her tears. Words finally came.
“When I heard you were flying to India, I thought I’d lost you,” Jameson said. “Last night was the most magical night of my life. Why would you leave me?”
“I saw you and Becca at Chili’s,” Prandi said. “I thought you… I thought last night was too good to be true. You had returned to Earth, forgotten about me. But when I saw you running through airport security to get to me, I knew I was wrong.”
Jameson looked into Prandi’s eyes and smiled. “More Than Words,” he said. “Do you know that song?”
Prandi shook her head.
“Listen,” he said, as it played over the airport PA system, occasionally interrupted by announcements.
Saying I love you/ Is not the words I want to hear from you/ It’s not that I want you/ Not to say, but if you only knew/ How easy it would be to show me how you feel/ More than words is all you have to do to make it real/ Then you wouldn’t have to say that you love me/ Cos I’d already know.
