October Love (Song 1)
...Jason. Nice of you to show up. Finally. Right when I was almost ready to forget you, to give up. Yet I couldn’t help smiling at your sheepish grin.
“I wrote you a song,” he admitted.
“Why would you do that?” I slightly demanded. Why can’t I think my words through? Why must I ruin a relationship with slightly flirtatious nature?
“Well…I…umm…as an explanation?”
An explanation of what, I wonder. Don’t get ahead of yourself, Brooke. Just look puzzled.
“Would you like to sit down?” he suggested.
“This must be serious, then,” I smirked as I reluctantly took a seat in the damp grass, fiddling with my coat buttons.
As he played the chord that had interrupted my thoughts again, as his fingers strummed, my heart swelled in anticipation, my body rocked with the beat that I knew was there.
“I’m sorry for the
confusion
I’m sure yours is about the same as mine
Why am I
having these feelings
Why did I do those things?
Your hair, your eyes, your intellectual
-ness
All of these fit together to be you,
the perfect you
