When I was a kid the smell of bleach would have me in tears! After working food service, I began to LOVE that smell, for its meaning. BLEACH =CLEAN. I began to value the smell , when I began to really value cleanliness. I love that you picked bleach, because I personally have gone through the two most extreme reactions to this very smell, also the story is just awesome! Who hates the smell of blood? what a weirdo?

I hate the smell of blood. I like the smell of gunpoweder and the smell of bleach. I don’t know of anyone that likes the smell of blood.
