FrEAks: Saga Two Part 2

It had been three weeks since Morrow’s death. Marty Helm was more affected by it then he let on, though his quiet demeanor had not changed. The now seventeen year old was in his junior year of high school, and still dealing with the same issues he always had. Everyone ignored him. Well, everyone accept…

“Look at this Hero, another possible Freak surfaces.” Megan said throwing a newspaper on the cafeteria table. It was an article about “giant” sightings throughout the city.

“How do you know that Megs? How do you know any of these people are like me?” Marty asked, setting down his fork. “And don’t call me that.”

“Aw c’mon Marty, it’s a term of endearment. After all, you’re my hero.” She said smiling sweetly.

“I’m still not sure why Morrow let you keep your memories of what happened last year.” Marty said looking away.

“I don’t know. Probably because he wanted me to see what I was getting myself into.” She answered. “Besides, it wasn’t like I was unconscious the whole time, “Bone Shard”.” she giggled.
