In a way, I had thought the same way Casimir had—on the matter of being sheltered. Living in Pleasantville was a lot like residing in an ivory tower. Except I was much luckier than Casimir. I went to school, I had friends, I could do things. I knew happiness, even though I had trouble remembering it sometimes. It disturbed me greatly to know that he was in such a position as he felt like hurting himself. Didn’t he want to make things better, instead of worse? He may have been educated academically, but he had many life lessons to learn.
