[Don't] Hold it In
[playing opposites.]
Today was just one of those blah days. Not particularly bad, not fantastic, just…there. School was school, work was work, Mike was Mike; everything was the same. I had fallen into that rut, just waiting for something, anything, to shake things up.
Lying on my bed, bored as usual, I skipped past another song I had listened to countless times, wincing as I realized that my playlist was reaching the end of the cycle…again. Just as I was about to turn it off in frustration, my phone buzzes in my pocket.
“Hey Mike,” same as always.
Silence.
This was not the something I was looking for.
Before he could finish been seeing someone else, I didn’t even bother to reply before chucking the phone at the wall. Reckless, not thinking, I snatch up the picture of us from the bedside table, smashing the glass front before pulling out the photo, shredding it beyond recognition.
“You jerk!” I screech, to nobody in particular, as I continue my rampage.
It was cheaper than therapy, at least.
