A little disturbing, and though not one of the official criteria for diagnosis, I’d say that makes a strong case for alcohol dependence. Not sure where you heard of this trick, but physiologically that might actually work.

I also find it to be disturbing. I first heard it from a friend who is a school bus driver and overhears these sort of things, then internet searched it. It’s either really happening or an urban legend or an urban legend that’s really happening.
