Sorry Travis.

I could faintly hear a basketball with, it’s persistent beat against the ground. It was a soothing sound, almost like the steady beating of a heart. I drew in a breath, it was bitter cold. At this particular moment, my mind was everywhere, but here, where it should be.
“Haily?” He asked with the slightest harshness.
I jerked my head up, and snapped back to the present situation.
“hmm?” I asked.
“Did you hear a word that I said?”
“No.”
He sighed impatiently.
“Fine. I’ll repeat myself. I’m really worried about you, you haven’t been yourself lately.”
His words were barely chipping at the surface of my clouded mind. It seemed like I couldn’t really take in anything.
“What do you mean?” I asked absentmindedly.
“I mean that! That, right there!” He barked.
I didn’t know what to tell him.
“What was it that you said you needed Travis?” I said coldly.
I could have cried looking at his face just than.
It was heartbreaking.
