Things to Say, Things to Do

With only a vaguely better appreciation for the situation, I wandered back to my desk. Wander seems an appropriate word choice as I ran into both the water cooler and the copier before stepping into Arez’ empty cubicle. Once there I had to exit with a few clumsy steps and go over one station to my own.

Tantalizingly horrible visions danced in my head, most of which I quickly dismissed as far too salacious for work. If only Annette had given some direction. ‘Piss off forever,’ would be fair though not welcome. ‘Marry me, you jerk,’ though shocking, would at least make sense. ‘Die, manwhore, die,’ one could understand.

But what to do with, ‘It’s complicated’? Mindlessly I shuffled papers and wiggled my mouse to clear the screensaver. Random factoids about Dr. Who episodes and floating images of the Tardis weren’t going to do me any good now. Just when I thought it couldn’t get any worse, I realized I was being watched.

I’ve always wished the cubicle walls were higher.

Eva had me dead in her sights.
