He Didn't
I believed he could change.
He didn’t.
I found out too late.
He was
Arrogant, rude
But strikingly gorgeous
And he drew me
Into his trap.
Somewhere deep
Inside I knew
It wasn’t right.
Beneath his glamorous facade
Deceit pulsed through his veins.
But I ignored the instinct,
Continued to be tantalized
By his luscious lips, sparkling eyes,
Drew myself deeper
Into a hole.
And when the last speck
Of dirt covered my soul,
When I was so thickly buried
I could hardly move,
He ruined me.
I believed he could change.
He didn’t.
I found out too late.
