Red Rose Promise

“Though I speak in the tongues of men and of angles, but have not love. It is that reason-”
Oh please just kill me! I send a silent cry.Redley sits beside me, his leg just barely skimming my own. When ever his fingers try to creep towrd me I slide more and more to the edge of the bench.
As the sermon ends I grab my gloves and quickly scurry out the door. I keep going till I reach the stony road. The church bells ring behind me, people bow and catch up on the latest scandels.
“Evy!” I hear a rushed whisper. I look around and suddenly I spot him looking at me from a carriage in the chapel’s parking lot. I look around to make sure no one is looking before I bolt towards him, my tight corset barely slowing me down.
After he kisses me with warm lips, I look right into his lovely eyes. “Why are you here?”
“I want to let you know to meet me at midnight,” He spoke. I smiled the fragilest of smile.
“I will,” I whispered, my fingers carresing his beautiful face. He handed me red rose. “See you tonight”
