Autumn and Justin: Saturday Surprise
My Mom just could not get over how red Justin’s hair was, how polite he was, and how courteous. My ears burned. I retreated to my room after supper to get away!
Saturday morning she dropped me off at Justin’s house. I knocked on his door. It was very quiet inside. I had to knock several times. Finally it opened.
Justin was in some jammie pants and a white t-shirt, his hair stood straight out from the sides of his head. It was comical, but I was more surprised than amused.
“Not awake?” I teased.
“Shh. Come on.” He took my hand and led me upstairs to his room.
“What’s going on?” I asked, now safely inside.
“My parents had a huge fight last night, we didn’t get to sleep until 2 AM.”
“Wow. I’m sorry!”
“It’s okay.” He collapsed in a bean bag chair on the floor. I joined him sitting cross-legged.
“Your hair is a mess!” I reached out to attempt to straighten it.
“I don’t like it.”
“I do! I LOVE red hair! Oops. I shouldn’t have said that out loud.”
He fixed his eyes on me but before I could move, he kissed me.
