The Club
“Where are we?”
“Someplace very, very special.”
“You’re kind of creeping me out.”
Lily giggles. “Okay, fine. It’s not that special. It’s just this old club. It’s not really going anymore, but they have great live music and stuff.”
Sounds harmless enough… I follow her into the club and am immediately bombarded by obnoxious dance music. I give her a look. “Great live music?”
“This isn’t it!” She grabs my arm and drags me down the stairs towards the back of the building.
As soon as I arrive down stairs, I know what she’s talking about. There are tables scattered around the room, and a stage is at the front. Microphones, amps and instruments litter the stage, as if someone’s about to perform.
“Told ya you’d like it, Kace.” Once again, she grabs my arm and pulls me over to a table near the front.
And all at once, I realize just what she’s planned.
Because Jack, Ben and two other guys come onstage as the audience cheers, and Jack walks straight to the microphone.
