My Way or the High Way
A few minutes later, my face had been powdered and my hair had been pulled back into a bun with a braid coiling about it. The people on the set were used to my unusual locks (which hung below my collarbone), so they made the most out of it when it came to costumes.
I was wearing a silk nightgown and a white robe that dragged on the floor – perfectly demure, I know.
The set consisted of a huge, cream colored, four poster bed. The ‘room’ was lavishly furnished, and a scarlet carpet made my bare feet sound noiseless.
The point of the scene is where the main character – Victoria (aka, me), finds out that she’s being stalked.
How appropriate, I thought glumly, sitting down in front of Victoria’s mirror desk.
Supposedly, in this scene, Victoria starts to unfurl her hair and brush it out when she spots something in the window.
I was always reluctant to do this scene…I didn’t want to ruin the beautiful hairdo that the stylists designed for the character.
But, as always, it’s either follow orders or out.
