A Small Flashback
I had just been thrown face first out of an audition – to put it shortly, I was a wreck.
I felt like bursting into tears, and some of the stupid salty liquid had already spilled over onto my cheeks and was dripping off my chin as I sniffed dejectedly, but you couldn’t see it..
I was currently making my way back outside, where Ray would be waiting.
I had been a new actress back then – I didn’t know how bad it felt to be rejected when you had your hopes really high for a certain audition.
Heck, that doesn’t even begin to describe it.
I opened the glass door of the large building; Ray appeared before me immediately, face creased with worry.
It had been one of the few days he had decided not to wear his particularly covering clothing (e.g. tailored suits, gloves…).
For a split second, I thought his hand had brushed up against mine, but the next moment he was speaking, so my question was pushed to the side.
“The bastard! He rejected you, didn’t he?”
“I – I didn’t say anything…”
