Sweet relief, the school year is almost over. Which means not having to see Riley, which was the best part.

English soon came around, which meant another school day was almost over. I got to my seat to see Riley talking quite rapidly with an exuberant happiness. She glanced my way, and after seeing me sitting there, rushed over towards me, “Guess…what?!” She practically screamed. Me and my chair flew back an inch or two before I said, “What? what?!”
“Alec…likes…me…too! Eeeeee!!” She trilled.

My heart sank like the Titanic, “Really?”
“Yep. Isn’t it amazingly awesome.”
“Yeah, amazingly awesome,” I murmered. I watched Riley’s brilliant smile fall, “You don’t sound very happy about it.”
I rolled my eyes, “Don’t you remember? I’m the one that doesn’t feel.”

When in truth I did feel. But alas, for another time my feelings have only ended in terrible heartache. Riley was on Cloud 9 knowing the info that she learned today.

And my heart is aching.
