Detention Days are Over
I handed my slip to the detention lady.
“Take a seat!”
I went to the back corner of the room, and sat quietly. I put my bags in the seats next to me to Hartley wouldn’t sit there.
6 minutes later he came in. He walked casualy, as if he didn’t care he was late.
I had been in detention many times before. I knew that if you were late, you had detention for the whole week.
Hartley got his slips for the rest of the week, the looked over at me. He smiled and strode over.
He moved my books and sat down next to me.
“Hey!”
I rolled my eyes and looked away.
“You know, if you get detetion again, you’ll be here with me!”
I sat quietly the rest of the time. When it was time to leave, I quickly raced out before Hartley could say anything.
If I get detention, I’d be stuck there with him?
“Ok.” I said to myself. “My detention days are over!”
