Sarah rubbed her eyes and looked in the mirror again, but nothing changed. She still had the fur, ears, and tail of a cat. And the eyes, too, she noticed; her pupils were now slits, not circles. Her tail swished involuntarily, and Sarah shivered. It was a strange sensation.

“First things first,” Sarah decided. She went to her dresser to pull some clothes on. After finding that jeans rubbed the fur on her legs the wrong way, she settled on a knee-length skirt and a loose sweatshirt. Even those felt somewhat uncomfortable, but she could deal with it. “Mental note: don’t put cute sweaters on dogs or cats ever again.”

Again Sarah looked at herself in the mirror, trying to make sense of it all. How could this have happened? Had someone spiked the party punch with something stranger than usual? Sarah frowned. If that was the case, then she would not be the only one waking up with “hair of the cat.”

Well, there was one way to find out. Sarah rummaged in her purse for her cellphone.
