The inspiration for this story comes from an actual dugout I ran across. The dugout described in this tale is just like I one I found. It was created by a 13 year old boy, who told me that if he hadn’t left the hatch ajar I would have never seen it. And, in that he was correct. To my knowledge no crime was ever commited in his dugout.
