Ruin

That event wasn’t the one that made me drop out of high school though. It’s hard to believe, I know, but I am crazy. I guess that did contribute to my downfall but the main part was Vince.

Unlike most date rape victims, I reported it. Vince and I were at a trial within two weeks.

It was hard to go through though. I mean, I’m glad I told on him and everything, but it was very hard. It was hard to sit across the room from my so-called boyfriend and know that he had drugged me and raped me at prom. It was difficult to understand that when he had said, “I love you,â€? he meant, “I love what you can bring me.â€? But it was extremely tough to not cry my eyes out when the jury said he was innocent.

I bet he got away with it because of his family’s money. I bet they bribed the jury. I bet they threatened to take away the money supporting the courthouse if their son didn’t get off free. Who knows. They could have done anything.

All that matters is whatever they did, it worked. And it ruined my life.
