Hmm, didn’t see how this one fit into the rest of the ficlets in the series and I think also winds up jarring because it’s a mix of the absolutely cold command code style and narrative style. And the other internal continuity lapse is having the same system that just slaughtered a huge number of people mercilessly request that one child be brought to it doesn’t quite jive.
