Confessions of a Teenage Star: Chapter 10
Cindy kept her mouth shut after that. The interview, sorry to say, didn’t last.
matt and I were in the park near my house – where we had driven back to after the show – and he held my hand with such an iron tight grip that I thought it might cut off circulation.
“Relax,” I giggled. “Everything’s alright.”
A big cloud over head opened up, and rain poured down everywhere. “Spoke too soon,” he said, taking me over to a nearby tree. “Follow me.”
I climbed up the makeshift ladder and made it up to the huge treehouse. “My dad and I built this here a while ago. It was supposed to be for kids, but no one every uses it.”
“It’s kinda nice…and dry,” I laughed again, and went to sit down in the corner. Someone had laid down a plaid sleeping back, making my seat comfortable. Matt sat down next to me and wrapped his arm around me.
The rain didn’t let up. I couldn’t go outside because I would get completely soaked, so we stayed there. After a while, we fell asleep in each other’s arms.
