He stares across the room longingly
I peek over
His deep blue eyes lock with mine
He turns away, blushing

I wonder if it was the right thing to do
Would things have eventually worked out?
Did I make the right decision?

In those eyes I see everything
I see the gash I made in his heart
The tears he shed over me
The love he wishes he still could give

He was so sweet to me
So good to me
When I never deserved his love
He gave, he kept trying

And so why have I left
Such a wonderful person behind?
He loves me deeply
He’d gladly take me back…
