The Game of Teenagers Today
Bluma grins at me, “Ready for Tomorrow?”
“You bet.” I smile back.
Halloween.
Okay, so I’m a sophomore, and maybe it’s a little dorky, but I still love to dress up. I’m going as Alice from Twilight (Cause I’m short and brunette) and I’ve managed to find the triangular dress (or something similar to it) that she wears in the novel. My daydreams running away with me, I’d already thought of some pick-up lines I could use on Mike or Will.
“Hey, I’m Alice, wanna be my Jasper?”
I test it on Bluma, and she just about rolls on the floor with laughter. I laugh with her, “kidding, of course.”
“No shit,” she laughs, “C’mon. Band time.”
“Whopee!” I cry out, a bit too loudly. The people around us stare. I ignore them.
So I’m a bit of a dork. At least I’m happy, right? Bluma and I laugh as we head to the band room. “Band geek,” she teases.
“Orch dork,” I throw back at her.
“Choir queer.”
“Math nerd.”
“I have a D in math.”
“Oh, nevermind then. English Nerd.”
And the modern game continued.
