Accursed Speculation
I sat down, trying to catch my thoughts as they flitted through my mind. I’d gathered the top ten men after myself to discuss this problem on our hands.
Well, the top ten minus Henry. Something about this issue had stirred him in such a peculiar way, & I couldn’t quite place it. Whatever it was, it brought out parts of his character I has his father had never seen in him before, & I can’t say I liked the looks of them, either.
“You gentlemen are no doubt aware of this little… issue that has recently confronted us?”
“Issue, Commissioner? With all due respect, this is on the verge of a full-blown fiasco!” my second cried.
Fifth nodded. “I can’t recall a time where the Resistance has caused this much trouble, even in its prime, & now it’s on the verge of collapse.”
“As far as we know, there are two members left,” Seventh stated. “You, sir, recently had the Premiere order the capture & elimination of their leader.
“But what if there are more?” Eleventh asked. The room went silent.
Yes, what if, indeed?
