Chapter 1
The clouds were over my head right now. The fog was getting thicker, and I could barely breathe, as if a large cold hand reached out, and clutched my throat with a death grip. I saw the lightning coming closer…and closer…. and closer….
I didn’t pay attention to what I was wearing. My new ice blue North Face was soaked, and my raven black hair swirled in the wind. I knew I should’ve cut it when I had the chance, if I ever got one that is. I saw the lightning now, only a few steps behind. I hid my face, trying to protect it, waiting to die. I could feel it. Then without warning, it struck my scalp, and I didn’t even have time to shriek. Surprisingly, there was no pain. I couldn’t feel anything in the confusion. Then everything turned black, as if I was swallowed in darkness…
