leave.
“It’s fine. Just tell me about it.â?
“Okay, I can-“
He was cut off by Dr. Karon. “Okay. The ship is ready to board.â?
I then noticed that there were about ten people around us. How odd! I should’ve known they’d come in earlier.
“Your name?â? the boy asked quickly.
“Regan. Yours?â?
“Theo.â?
We were herded into a hallway and led into a different room. Everything would’ve been dead silent if not for the people around me walking and breathing.
“Regan, come with me,â? Karon said, leading me to a seat.
I followed reluctantly, and sat down. It was comfortable, the kind of chair you could take a nap in. There were other seats in the room, each spaced about four feet from each other if I had to estimate.
The doctor pushed a button, I assumed on a handheld remote, and the thing holding my hands together immediately broke off. He picked it up and went to a different room.
I sat in the chair and listened for something, anything to give away when we were leaving. I was scared.
