“It’s fine. Just tell me about it.â€?

“Okay, I can-“

He was cut off by Dr. Karon. “Okay. The ship is ready to board.â€?

I then noticed that there were about ten people around us. How odd! I should’ve known they’d come in earlier.

“Your name?â€? the boy asked quickly.

“Regan. Yours?â€?

“Theo.â€?

We were herded into a hallway and led into a different room. Everything would’ve been dead silent if not for the people around me walking and breathing.

“Regan, come with me,â€? Karon said, leading me to a seat.

I followed reluctantly, and sat down. It was comfortable, the kind of chair you could take a nap in. There were other seats in the room, each spaced about four feet from each other if I had to estimate.

The doctor pushed a button, I assumed on a handheld remote, and the thing holding my hands together immediately broke off. He picked it up and went to a different room.

I sat in the chair and listened for something, anything to give away when we were leaving. I was scared.
