I had to somehow redeem the wife, just a little bit. I don’t think these are as amazing as kwatz’s section, but this is what I think the other side looks like.

It’s good! Certainly a different atmosphere than I was shooting for, but that’s what happens with different writers. Although if you think the wife was ill-treated in my stories, try re-reading them from the beginning thinking/knowing that the captive man is the bad guy. He has done something horrible and the proverbial/literal timer is about to expire. The good guys (who include the wife; who was undercover during the marriage) are getting desperate. At least that was how I envisioned it when I wrote it.
