Even in the middle of nowhere

It was always on her mind. It was the first thing, the last thing, and the only thing she wanted.Even here in the middle of nowhere on a beach, its all she could think about.
“What do you think about them? They’re intriguingly shady. I say we go talk to them.”
I lowered my eyes and followed her gaze.
“No I don’t know. Don’t you think it would be weird if we walked up to them and asked?”
It was my job to talk her out of it.
“No that’s how it’s done”
I knew this.I also know that my parents would freak if they found out what we were doing.In fact, all we were doing is sitting on a park bench in our oversized hoodies, watching the other people around us.
“I was going to bring some in my purse but I couldn’t get it in time.”
“Darn” I said with a hint of sarcasm.
She didn’t catch on. I didn’t want to waste my money, but I didn’t have it in me to tell her no. I looked at her like a lost puppy dog. But no one could make her go to school, or talk her out of partying and I couldn’t make her stop being her
