I feel like I should give fair warning (not that anyone is following this series) that this is going to end with a mature tag on the last 1 or 2 ficlets. So, if you don’t read stuff tagged mature, just stop now in the series. I’m just sayin, you know, it ain’t gonna end with unicorns and lollipops.
I had a feeling the ending wasn’t gonna be pretty. Maybe it’s because I just rolled out of bed, but I was a teeny bit confused. I’ll read it over again in a bit. Even though I am confused, I can still feel the fear and terror.
Thanks for the comments. This whole series I really need to work on closing that gap between what’s in my head and what I manage to effectively convey.
This is very beautifully written.. Even though it’s a rather downtrodden moment, so to speak, it is very eloquent and quite captivating. I love your writing.
Probably too vague, but for the sake of a little clarity, the “giant” and “ogre” were Lefleur and local police chief in her own back yard, frightening away from returning home without realizing that she had been there. Did anybody get that? I’m way too vague sometimes, I think. Okay, most of the time.
