Nicole’s alter ego was named Jamie. Jamie was a pixie, literally, as well as metaphorically. She never tied herself to anything or anyone. She was spontaneous, with spiky pink hair, and never wore anything but heels no matter what she was wearing. She had a never ending supply of funky stilettos and clothes. She was also a dancer, who followed her own style of dance completely, just like Nicole. The difference was that Jamie had the ability to entrance people without scaring them or making them think they’re hallucinating. People, or anyone really, just accepted her as a sign of the important things in life, like love and hope and passion.
Nicole didn’t know for sure that people wouldn’t accept her as easily as Jamie, because she had never tried. She was afraid that she might hurt someone by appearing and making them question their sanity. She knew how fragile the balance of the human mind was, and didn’t want anyone’s crisis to be on her shoulders. Nicole was really a timid thing, though it didn’t show
